New Residents in the Butterfly Meadow

The Butterfly Meadow in back of Neville Place and the new Community Gardens are now the home of hives of bees, placed there by a volunteer. The bees will pollinate flowers and make honey that can be collected for human consumption. Domesticated bees in recent years have suffered from declining colony populations. The causes may include parasites, diseases and environmental stresses such as pesticides and pollution.
