Composting with Worms
A Friends of Fresh Pond Reservation Program

How can you avoid throwing away garbage if you live in an apartment?
Randi Mail, City of Cambridge Recycling Director, has an answer, which she shared with us: Make an indoor compost bin and stock it with red wiggler worms. The worms eat the garbage and turn it into compost, "black gold" to those who value the material as a growing medium for plants. A worm bin aficionado herself, Randi educated and delighted us with advice and anecdotes from her own adventures while pursuing this unusual enterprise.
