Butterfly Meadow
This winter's persistent snow is keeping the butterfly meadow under wraps, a condition that is good for both the plants and the animals living there. The snow provides insulation and moisture to both, and cover for small animals that otherwise would be more visible to predators such as red-tailed hawks and coyotes.
