Winterberry Holly, Ilex verticillata
These berry-laden shrubs near the Kingsley Park information board have delighted many a Pond-walker. Hungry birds also will find them attractive when food becomes scarce in late winter. New England native species such as these are best suited for local conditions, and help support native animal populations.
