Last Chance (in 2009) Bird Walk
Ten participants had good looks at waterfowl, including Canvasbacks, Ruddy Ducks, Ring-necked Ducks, and Common Mergansers, on Fresh Pond. The rain that had been predicted for the afternoon did not begin until we were almost ready to head indoors. On our way to the Maynard Ecology Center, we spotted this forlorn-looking Great Blue Heron sitting on a branch.
