The Friends of Fresh Pond Reservation Planning Committee invited members
who volunteered this summer to weed the Kingsley Park bioswale to a
picnic dinner on the Reservation at Suzanna's Corner. The Friends group
"adopted" the bioswale in 2007 with the goal of removing invasive
weeds and maintaining the stands of milkweed, asters, goldenrods, and
senna that were seeded in the area sometime before 2004.
Suzanna's Corner is a woodland garden created by Suzanna Black. It sits
just off the Pond Road about ¼ mile to the north of the Water
Department buildings, just across Fresh Pond Parkway from the Dunkin'
Donuts store.
Picnickers enjoyed subs and wraps from Ma Magoo's, which is located
near the donut store.
Here, Suzanna Black, standing on the right, points out some plants to

and (seated) Squizzle Plekavich.
