Resting Time,
This tree swallow box located on the Pond side of the Water Department
building was the first of the 15 swallow boxes on the Reservation this
year to be occupied. In this photo, taken in the early evening, the
birds appear to be resting after a long day's work of catching flying
insects to feed to their babies.
By this date, swallows have occupied or been investigating all but four
of the 15 boxes. House wrens have moved into two others. For a report
