Two Close Encounters

Today's walk included closer encounters than usual with wild animals. This Cedar Waxwing sitting in a Highbush Cranberry next to the path in Kingsley Park seemed totally unconcerned as we stood several feet away. The Raccoon sitting on the Pond fence near the Huron Avenue hillside was more wary. It stared for a moment, then slowly climbed down to the ground before running across the road to the hillside, where it disappeared into the woods.
