The Cambridge Water Department has made and put up on the Reservation
four nesting boxes for Tree Swallows. Two (including this one) are in
the Lusitania wetland, one in the Butterfly Meadow, and one inside the
Fresh Pond fence near Little Fresh Pond. The Friends group will also
be putting up Swallow boxes. When they are all in place they will be
numbered, and birders will be asked to report sightings to the Ranger
or the Friends group.
