Almost-Spring Bird Walk
Although the temperature did not seem very spring-like, birds at Fresh
Pond seemed to think it was spring. The walk got off to a good start
with a flock of about 40 Cedar Waxwings eating the seeds of the Japanese
Pagoda tree in front of Neville Place. We saw and heard Grackles, Red-winged
Blackbirds, and Tufted Titmice displaying courting behavior. We ended
at Neville Place with a mixed flock of Black-capped Chickadees, White-breasted
Nuthatches, Tufted Titmice, Juncos, and a Hairy Woodpecker.
