A Walk in the Upper Cambridge Watershed
Cambridge Watershed Manager Chip Norton (top left photo, plaid shirt)
invited members of the Friends group to join him on a walk through the
woods and meadows of a parcel of land in Lexington that is owned by
the City of Cambridge. Maintaining the land as a natural area helps
protect the quality of the water in the adjacent Hobbs Brook Reservoir.
The woodland path led us through hilly terrain to the top of a high
cliff. The bottom two photos are views in opposite directions along
a power line right of way that cuts through the property. There are
many wild blueberries and other native shrubs growing in this area.
