Blue Vervain, Verbena hastata
This plant is a welcome sight on the banks of Little Fresh Pond, where native wetland species were planted last year. The violet-blue flowers contrast beautifully with other wetland plants such as pink Jo-Pye Weed and Swamp Milkweed, red Cardinal Flower, and White Boneset. The background in this photo is the water of Little Fresh Pond.
