Beautiful weather
and lovely woods were the perfect combination for this tour of a piece
of Cambridge-owned property in Lincoln. Chip Norton, Cambridge Watershed
Manager (in left photo, pointing at sign) explained how the land, known
as "the Harrington property" came to be owned by the City
of Cambridge. Stony Brook, which feeds the Stony Brook Reservoir, flows
through it and forms a pond (bottom photo) behind an old mill dam. A
Great Blue Heron (right photo) did a good job of hiding his body behind
the leaves of a tree, but he couldn't hide his reflection on the water.
