Make Your Own Twig Chart
Sixteen people enjoyed this opportunity to make a twig chart using the real twigs of 14 species of native trees that are found at Fresh Pond Reservation. Members of the FFPR Planning Committee worked together to present information for the participants: Barbara Strell (standing, top left), Suzanna Black (standing, top right), Janet Kovner (standing, bottom left), and Elizabeth Wylde (not pictured). In the lower right photo, participants study diagrams, photos, and the Winter Tree Finder by May Theilgaard Watts and Tom Watts to make identifications. Everyone did a terrific job and went home with their finished or almost-finished charts.
