Animals in Winter
During this family program led by Susan Agger, participants suggested
ways that animals might survive winter, ranging from migrating south
or hibernating, to staying active or laying eggs, then dying. After
speculating what animals might be found on the Reservation, the group
took a walk in the woods behind Neville Place. Animals seen included
earthworms, millipedes, centipedes, squirrels, and birds (red-tailed
hawk, gull, downy woodpecker, white-breasted nuthatch, black-capped
chickadee, and house finch.)
