Hawthorn Berries
Bright red berries abound on the 'Winter King" Hawthorns (Crataegus verides) near the Water Department buildings. Later in the winter season, flocks of hungry birds such as American Robins and Cedar Waxwings, will descend upon these trees and polish off every last fruit.
