          Occupied!
A Tree Swallow peeks out from Nesting Box #1 located near the water
in front of the Water Department building, Last year swallows raised
a family in this very public location.
This year Friends of Fresh Pond Reservation working with the Cambridge
Water Department have put up 11 boxes for Tree Swallows and 4 boxes
for smaller birds such as Black-capped Chickadees. Pond walkers who
observe any kind of animal activity around any of the boxes are asked
to write down their observations and leave them in the box in front
of the Ranger Station window (you can use one of the light orange observation
sheets in the box), or e-mail friendsoffreshpond@yahoo.com , or call
Ranger Jean at 617-349-4793 and leave a message. Thank you for your
          help!
