Migratory Bird Walk
Today's list of birds included numerous species that are known to nest at Fresh Pond Reservation: Green Herons, Canada Geese, Mallards, Red-tailed Hawks, Mourning Doves, Downy Woodpeckers, Blue Jays, Tree Swallows, Black-capped Chickadees, Tufted Titmice, American Robins, Song Sparrows, Northern Cardinals, Red-winged Blackbirds, Common Grackles, American Goldfinches, and House Sparrows.
Lots of bird song and brief sightings of a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and a Kildeer plus a few other species made for a day of good birding.
