Three Weeders

This summer and fall, pond-walkers have been noticing people wearing green pinneys and working in the Reservation's woods and bioswales. These folks are Fresh Pond Reservation Stewards. They are volunteers who have made a commitment to help control the invasive weeds that are imperiling the areas that were recently planted with native species. Using shovels, trowels, saws and clippers they have removed more than 60 large bags of weeds. The work will continue in 2008 and beyond.
If you would like to join this hearty crew of plant rescuers, you will find the work strenuous and immensely satisfying. Training and equipment will be provided.
