Autumn Treasures, Nuts, Seeds, and Fruit
Barbara Strell, center, demonstrates how milkweed pods open to release their seeds to be scattered by the wind. The program started indoors with descriptions of the development of fruit and seeds, examples of types of fruit, and a discussion of strategies that have evolved in plants for scattering their seeds.
