Highbush Cranberry, Viburnum trilobum
This large deciduous native shrub is a four-season delight: white flowers
in spring, bright green foliage in summer, red leaves in fall, and persistent
red berries in winter. By spring hungry birds will have consumed all
of the sour berries, and the plant will be ready for a new cycle. The
berries are edible by humans, and with lots of added sugar, make a tasty
condiment.
