Magnificent Mud
A Friends of Fresh Pond Reservation Program
Meet the Mud Muckers! Participants discovered the properties of mud
on-site, by digging into the soil of a wetland near Neville Place and
collecting soil specimans. About a foot beneath the wet surface in one
area there was a band of frozen silt. In the bottom photo there are
models of some animals that spend at least part of their lives in mud:
frog, salamander, snake, and turtles.
