Monarch Butterfly
The Monarch is loved for its lifestyle as well as for its beauty. Every
fall all across North America millions of these butterflies begin migrating
southward, headed toward Central Mexico where they will spend the winter.
In the spring, successive generations of the insects will complete the
northward journey. The fall migrating populations are nicknamed "Methuselahs"
because they live through the winter, far longer than any of those that
mature during the spring and summer.
