Two Oaks
The distinctive branching patterns of these two oaks make them easy
to recognize. In addition to having a more graceful profile, the small
branches of the red oak are smooth, while those of the white oak are
rough. Red oak family* leaves have pointed lobes, and white oak family**
leaves are rounded.
*includes red oaks, black oaks, and scarlet oaks
**includes white oaks, swamp white oaks and scrub oaks
