The End Product These are the purple loosestrife plants that were put in pots on April 22 (See calendar date for photos.) Volunteers will water them, measure their growth, pinch them back to promote branching, add beetles early in June, and monitor the beetle development until the new generation emerges as adults. Then the plants will be put into nearby bioswales and the mesh removed so that the beetles can move to loosestrife plants in that area. |
