Large Milkweed Bugs, Oncopeltus fasciatus
These insects are true "bugs," which meaans they are a type
of insect that sucks the juices from plants, in this case the seed pods
of Common Milkweed, Asclepias syriaca. Large clusters consisting
of adults and larvae of various sizes have recently appeared on the
plants in the Kingsley Park bioswale.
