Sensitive Fern, Onoclea sensibilis

Perhaps a small dinosaur would feel at home in this patch of woods near Little Fresh Pond. More than 200 million years ago, long before seed-bearing plants appeared, enormous ferns and horsetails were the dominant plants of the forest.
