A Quintessential Biodiversity Walk

Eight participants braved pouring rain to explore Fresh Pond Reservations's biodiversity with naturalists Larry Millman (fourth from left, black jacket) and Peter Alden (white shirt, yellow umbrella). Before we went outside both men presented their views of the causes and extent of loss of biodiversity in the world today.

Peter Alden was the creator of Biodiversity Days in Concord, Massachusetts in1998. He spearheaded the effort that in 2000 made Biodiversity Days an official State-wide annual event. Larry Millman is a respected mycologist, writer and explorer who has also led numerous Biodiversity Days walks.
