Butterfly Weed, Asclepias tuberosa
Butterfly weed is our only milkweed with alternate leaves and colorless juice. Its vivid orange flowers are a magnet for butterflies and other pollinating insects. This plant was growing among Common Milkweeds (A. syriaca) in the bioswale at the base of the Kingsley Park lawn.
