Specimen Trees at Fresh Pond

A walk around the Fresh Pond Golf Course is a winter treat for non-golfers, especially if they are tree enthusiasts. On this walk Ranger Jean Rogers introduced participants to eleven fine specimen trees (mature trees that are characteristic of their species) growing on the golf course. This large weeping willow (Salix babylonica) near Black's Nook is also a familiar sight to walkers on the Pond road.
