          Wild Senna, Cassia hebecarpa
A single specimen of this large (6 foot tall) native perennial is growing
in the Kingsley Park bioswale. Some of the flowers have developed into
pea-like pods, revealing that the plant is a member of the Legume Family,
all of which have the ability to "fix" atmospheric nitrogen,
converting it to nitrates that can be used by this and other plants.
