Red-stemmed (Red-osier) Dogwood, Cornus stolonifera
By mid-August the dogwoods and viburnums at Fresh Pond Reservation are loaded with berries which will eventually provide nourishment for animals. The fruit shown here are just beginning to turn white, and will make a striking contrast with the bright red stems.
