Common Milkweed, Asclepias syriaca
As the days grow shorter, the seeds inside these pods will continue to grow until they burst open the pods. Each seed is attached to a tuft of white fiber that will act as a sail, carrying the seed to a new location where perhaps it will find suitable conditions for growth.
