Highbush Cranberry, Viburnum trilobum
The waxy, translucent berries of this native shrub are edible, although tart enough to require a lot of sugar for human consumption. Birds don't usually eat them until late in the winter. Perhaps by then the fruit isn't as sour or the birds are desperate for food.
