Sensitive Fern, Onoclea sensibilis
A patch of this spreading woodland fern is growing near the road between the Golf course tee and the Old Meadow area. Fossils of this fern dating back 60 million years look very similar to modern ones: apparently there has been very little change since the Paleocene Epoch.
