Winterberry Ilex verticillata "Winter red"
The bright berries of this native shrub provide late winter food for birds. Perhaps a flock of hungry robins will one day swoop in and strip the bushes of every last berry. The fruit on this cultivar are considerably larger than the wild type, as big as a green pea, compared to a mung bean.
