In Celebration of National Drinking Water Week, the Cambridge Water Department welcomed the public with an open house and a tour of the water treatment facility. Among the displays were a living "slice of a pond", here being explained by Fresh Pond Ranger Jean Rogers; and a demonstration of water testing procedures, shown by Water Quality Supervisor Krystyna McNally.

Additional activities included a display of water chestnut removal by volunteer Roger Frymeier, a tour of the plantings around the buildings by Reservation Site Supervisor Vince Falcione, and a presentation about the Water Department and its operation by CWD staff. The tour of the building was led by Water Operations Supervisor Tim MacDonald.
