Outside the Box
These young tree swallows sat on a nearby branch while we checked the contents of the nest box at Little Fresh Pond. Not surprisingly, the box was empty. Although the fledglings do not return to the box once they leave, they may stay in the vicinity in the hope that their parents will return there to give them food.
