Fresh Pond is frozen over and covered with snow except
for several long channels where underwater bubblers have
kept the surface agitated. The bubblers prevent the water
in the Reservoir from becoming stratified, thereby maintaining
high oxygen levels and a desirable balance of chemicals.
Visible on the far shore is the Walter B. Sullivan Water Treatment
Facility and, to its left in the distance, the Prudential Tower.
