Weir Meadow this morning eating what appeared to be a male common merganser.

Increased tree swallow activity was observed at all four of the nesting boxes. A bird would fly up to the opening, the other bird would fly out, the first bird would go in.
This may mean that the eggs have hatched. Tree swallows somehow coordinate so that all of the the eggs of many pairs of birds hatch at about the same time.
