Goldfinch

Goldfinch scallops summer air

as if some biking yo-yo
master had him on a string

and let it out
and pulled it back
biking through clouds.
The bird

makes a quick short sound
on the ups; like the involuntary
squeezed-out calls

of House-Cat, rushing for food.
I hear those calls all day
                                                 all day
this time of year.
